Banking in China: Joint-stock banks vs SOE banks

Using data from 2018 financial statements, compared with SOE banks, joint-stock banks pay more than double the wages. It stands to reason that it would be easier to both attract and retain talented finance professionals if you can pay more than double the wages of your competitors.
